Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide marine survey services at all major Tanzanian ports?
Yes. We provide marine and cargo survey services at Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Mtwara, and Zanzibar. Our surveyors are available 24/7 for vessel attendance and urgent inspections. We also service vessels at anchorage and offshore locations upon request.
How quickly is the survey report issued?
A preliminary summary is sent via email or WhatsApp immediately after attendance. Final technical reports are typically dispatched within 24-48 hours of job completion. For urgent requirements, expedited reporting is available upon request.
What is a bunker quantity survey?
A bunker quantity survey verifies the quantity and condition of marine fuel supplied to or remaining on board a vessel. It protects shipowners and charterers from quantity discrepancies and fuel-related disputes. Our BQS reports are accepted by all major fuel traders and P&I Clubs.
What is a draft survey and why is it required?
A draft survey is a method used to determine the weight of bulk cargo loaded or discharged from a vessel by measuring the ship's displacement before and after cargo operations. It is commonly required for commodities such as coal, clinker, fertilizer, grain, and minerals to verify cargo quantity and prevent disputes. Our draft surveys achieve accuracy within 0.5% when conditions permit.
Do you act as a P&I correspondent in Tanzania?
Yes. We assist P&I Clubs, shipowners and insurers with investigations, cargo damage inspections, crew matters, stowaway handling, and incident reporting across Tanzanian ports. We provide 24/7 emergency response for all P&I matters.
Are your survey reports accepted internationally?
Our reports are prepared according to international marine survey standards and are accepted by shipowners, charterers, insurers, P&I Clubs, and commodity traders worldwide. All reports are signed by certified marine surveyors and include comprehensive photographic evidence.
